Copyright © 2026 Yan Jin. All rights are reserved except for the limited permissions stated below. These terms cover the original notebook code, text, figures, and organization. Third-party software, datasets, services, and other materials remain subject to their own licenses and terms.

Permitted use

A person who obtains a notebook through an authorized ML4EA portal account may keep one personal copy, run it, and modify it for personal learning. An instructor may also use, demonstrate, and adapt a personal copy to prepare and teach courses or classes that the instructor personally teaches.

Each student or other participant who needs a notebook copy must obtain it through their own authorized portal account.

Restrictions

Without prior written permission from the copyright holder, you may not share, redistribute, publish, post, sublicense, sell, or otherwise provide a notebook or a substantial portion of its contents to another person. Do not place notebooks in public or shared repositories, learning-management-system file areas, shared drives, websites, commercial training products, or other distribution channels. You may not remove copyright or access notices, bypass portal access controls, or use the notebooks to provide a commercial product or service.

Engineering-use notice

The notebooks are educational examples. Their results must not be used directly for engineering design, safety, certification, clinical, operational, or other consequential decisions without appropriate independent verification and validation.

No warranty

The notebooks are provided “as is,” without warranties of any kind. Access does not transfer ownership or grant an open-source license. Access may be suspended or revoked when these terms or portal safeguards are violated.
